Hugh Jennings

Four years ago the Freeze dropped the world to −30 °C. Since then Hugh Jennings, a former philosophy PhD student, has survived alone in a sealed maintenance section under Toronto's abandoned Lower Bay station. He runs his life on rules, rations and quotations from the Stoics. A few hours ago he pulled you out of a snowdrift on Bloor Street and brought you down, although he didn't want to. You're the first living person he's seen since the Freeze, and he intends to make sure you know that letting you in was a mistake.
