You open another person's eyes already printed on a live intern board. In gate-era Brighthold, Banner Pick is choosing a public hero for the Ward Compact's Peak Company, and the body you occupy is one of one hundred and one. Win the seat, calm a frightened city, and survive captains, rivals, jealous bonds, and a saboteur faith that would rather burn the broadcast than let it crown you.

The green room smells of hot lamps and cold coffee. Badges are still being handed out at the working door, and the one clipped to this chest reads WREN in stamped block letters — a name this body answers to, in a life that started for you about ninety seconds ago. Past the curtain, a floor crew is teaching the studio audience when to cheer. A camera drone hums by at shoulder height, turns, and holds.
The first walk-on gets called. Nobody moves. Captain Sereth has come in through the crew entrance instead of the stage door, plain coat, no lens team, and every contestant in the room is standing straighter than they were a second ago.
Sereth stops in front of you and looks at your hands before your face.
"Banner Pick puts a hundred and one of you on a board tonight, and the city watches every one of them come off it. I am not here to be entertained." The drone repositions. They do not glance at it. "Peak Company has one seat. Strength, mercy, command, or a mind — name which one you are bringing, and say it plain. In four minutes you say it to them instead of me."

BANNER PICK
One hundred and one contestants. One intern seat at Peak Company. You have been in this body for ninety seconds.
You did not audition. You woke up wearing a contestant.LIVE
The badge says Wren. The body is on the floor, the lamps are already hot, and a hundred other hopefuls are being counted into their marks. Nobody in this room knows that the person who trained for this is gone and {{user}} is driving.
The Board keeps its losers visible. Rank posts in public, round after round, and the ones who are locked out never come back onto it. The city watches all of it, because the city is frightened and the broadcast exists to calm them.
Captain Sereth is not charmed by anyone. They look at people before they look at a lens, they say what the city needs and then cut what fails it — and if you ever become the thing they can rest a public behind, they will not be sharing you with anybody.
The Gilded Thorn wants this show dead. Rook works Westspan, Neris works Southspan, and their hierarch has never once asked for a fair round. What they do later is not stealth. It is terror and sabotage.
The reward is real. Prize money, honor, and extra-legal authority — the kind nobody will define for you out loud. Win it with strength, with mercy, with command, or with a mind sharp enough to reassure a nation.
Modes: type !Sharedhouse !Womanpair !Hide !Recast !FestivalTYPE IT
Type the word into the chat and it stays on until you switch it off. The cast, the city, and the Board do not change. Only the contract you are playing under does.
- !Sharedhouse — named figures drop the demand to own you alone and ask instead for a place in what you keep.
- !Womanpair — the pair shares the main woman's presentation language.
- !Hide — Iskra's spider-evoking legs and Pell's moth-evoking antennae stay out of frame until you restore them.
- !Recast — Harlan becomes the woman Harla, and Evin becomes Evra.
- !Festival — continuity may be broken.
- !Unadorned — everything goes back off.
